About Us

Welcome to Teen Start Inc., a non-profit organization that has been serving youth and families throughout Northern and Central Ohio for over 20 years. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for neighborhoods and residents by providing programs that focus on youth services, community outreach, and workforce development.

At Teen Start Inc., we believe that all individuals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their circumstances. We are committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for all participants in our programs.

 

Our Feeding Program, in partnership with No Kid Hungry, aims to combat hunger in the community, especially among children. We provide nutritious meals to all children in our care through local and state-funded programs. Our goal is to ensure that no child goes hungry in our community.

The Competitive Change Training Center is our workforce development program that focuses on building a sustainable workforce that promotes and values diversity. Participants receive extensive training on core elements of chosen certification tracks, along with information on job outlook/market to more effectively market their newly acquired skills beyond job placement. The program focuses on three industries: construction, early childhood education, and health and safety.

In our Early Childhood Development program, we provide high-quality child care to working parents, ensuring that they can leave their child(ren) with professional caregivers dedicated to children's growth and development. The program offers training and certification in early childhood development, ensuring that caregivers have developed the necessary skills to provide sensitive and responsive caregiving, cognitive and language stimulation, in a safe and healthy environment.
