Village Family Farm
Welcome to Family Village Farm, a black-owned urban farm located in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio's Hough Neighborhood. We are committed to promoting youth education programs in agriculture, food entrepreneurship, and food justice through our Next-Gen Growers Project.
Our goal is to create a seed to stomach approach to teach basic farming in urban settings. We believe that by integrating seven STEM learning areas with emerging technology, we can offer training, life-enriching skills, and hands-on and virtual formats to educate and inspire youth.
Our programs focus on teaching children the importance of growing their own food, understanding where it comes from, and how it affects their community. We believe that by promoting healthy eating habits, we can improve the overall health of our community.
Our farm tours offer an interactive and educational experience for children of all ages. During the tour, children will learn about the different types of crops we grow, the importance of pollinators, and how we use sustainable farming practices.
Next-Gen Growers Project
Our Next-Gen Growers Project is a comprehensive program that teaches children the fundamentals of farming. The program includes hands-on experience in planting, watering, and harvesting crops. We also teach children about the importance of composting, soil health, and sustainable farming practices.
Food Entrepreneurship Program
Our food entrepreneurship program teaches children how to turn their love of food into a viable business. We teach children the fundamentals of starting a business, marketing, and how to create and sell their own food products.
Food Justice Program
Our food justice program teaches children about the inequalities in the food system and how it affects their community. We also teach children about food waste, food deserts, and how to advocate for change in their community.
At Family Village Farm, we are committed to creating a safe, educational, and fun environment for children to learn about agriculture and food entrepreneurship. We believe that by teaching children the fundamentals of farming and food entrepreneurship, we can create a brighter future for our community.
